Jesse Markin, a Finnish artist, has gained recognition for his unique music style that combines rap, indie, pop, soul, R&B, progressive rock, and African rhythm music. Markin explores deep themes such as love, xenophobia, hope, loneliness, and brotherhood through honest interpretation.

His career took off with the release of his album FOLK in 2019, which earned him multiple awards. His sophomore album, NOIR, released in 2021, further solidified his critical success and garnered an Emma nomination. Markin’s talent has also caught the attention of international media and music platforms. Currently working on his third album, titled PUMP, with producer Totte Rautiainen, Markin is set to release it in autumn 2024.

Born in Liberia and raised in Finland, Markin encountered an identity crisis until he discovered American rap music, which inspired him to learn English so he could write his own songs. Writing music continues to be a passion for Markin, as he enjoys finding new ways to tell stories through his lyrics.
